TEA & ME

When I was a little girl, I did not like tea parties. Oh, I had all of the finest tea sets, spoons, a table and other such, but, it just seemed so idiotic to me, to pretend that my dolls and stuffed animals were visiting friends and that we would have a 'spot' of tea together.... Ha!

Needless to say, I became a tomboy, big time. I never missed the girly stuff, I was having too much fun with the boys, and, they got to stay away until dark, almost every day.

Now that I am older, tea is my favorite beverage. I love white tea, green tea, black tea, herbal teas, flavored teas, and, iced tea. Now I also wish that I could have tea parties; just invite a bunch of people and spend the afternoon sipping tea and chatting about any old thing...

Most of the people I associate with are coffee drinkers. Coffee is nice, but, there is something more essential about tea. It is more nourishing, and, it has health properties. Now, they say that there are some advantages to coffee as well, but, that is limited to a few cups a week. Tea on the other hand, with all of the wonderful varieties and properties, can be drank in abundance, and, I for one, am glad, for I so love the mellow taste of perfectly brewed cup of tea. Which reminds me, I haven't had my afternoon tea, and, I am thirsty. Care to join me?
